I recently preached through Leviticus for my campus ministry and found Sklar's commentary to be helpful on the usual things you'd expect from a commentary: analysis of the Hebrew text, helpful insight into the historical context (especially the practices and beliefs of Ancient Near Eastern neighbors), and ongoing theological implications. However, what really sets Sklar's work apart for me is his suggestions for application of the text to modern readers. This was an invaluable resource to me as a preacher for boiling all the content down into a relevant sermon.
