Title: John Phillips Commentary Series - Exploring Revelation
Publisher: Kregel
Author: John Phillips

Description

Thoughtful people are insisting that if we are not living in the age of the Apocalypse, we must at least be living on he threshold of that age. So many significant things are happening. The rebirth of Israel, the rise of Russia, the increasing collective consciousness of Europe, the awakening of China, the resurgence of militant Islam, the political and moral bankruptcy of the nations and their international institutions, the apostasy of the professing church, the ecological threat to the planet. These and similar pieces are all part of the jigsaw puzzle of our age. Thoughtful people believe that if any clue to the picture is to be found, it must be in the book of Revelation.

This commentary will attempt three things — to carefully and clearly outline the book of Revelation so that its chief movements can be clearly discerned, to expound the book verse by verse so that its details can be grasped, and to show where the trends discernible in today's world will end and how they relate to the book of Revelation.

The John Phillips Commentary Series is designed to provide pastors, Sunday school teachers, and students of the Scripture with doctrinally sound interpretation that emphasizes the practical application of Bible truth. Working from the familiar King James Version, Dr. Phillips not only provides helpful commentary on the text, but also includes detailed outlines and numerous illustrations and quotations. Anyone wanting to explore the meaning of God's Word in greater depth - for personal spiritual growth or as a resource for preaching and teaching - will welcome the guidance and insights of this respected series.
