Fortress Press is excited to announce a new collection of textbooks introducing the major components of the Hebrew Bible. Written for use in topical undergraduate elective courses or seminary survey courses, these books, appearing between 2016 and 2018, share a common organization.
Written by an ecumenical array of respected scholars, these volumes will provide fresh, student-friendly explorations to the writings of the Hebrew Bible and to contemporary scholarship on them. Each volume describes the historical and cultural context in which the writings originated; introduces important episodes, characters, and themes in each book; and addresses issues of contemporary interpretation and debate. Each volume invites the student, regardless of religious orientation, into conversation and exploration of the biblical heritage.
