The Book of Psalms is the prayer book of individuals and communities both in the Old and New Testaments. We not only read and study the psalms, we pray them. As prayer they nourish our relationship with God. In the Scriptures we not only have words that tell us about God, we have a divinely inspired Words that God wants to hear from us. In order that these words, these prayers, touch us to reach out to God, we need to know them. Hence the need for help such as this commentary. It tells us what the psalms meant when it was written, what it means to those who pray them and what they point to especially in our time and context of the pandemic.
