Very helpful for study!

Given that this book must cover three O.T. books, instead of one (say, Zechariah, by itself), Dr. Mackay does well to comment on virtually every verse of each book. Although he states what he believes the theme of each book to be before he engages in detailed commentary, I felt that, in the case of Zechariah, the thematic unity of the book might have been more clearly captured. Also Dr. MacKay seemed to dismiss millennial views of Zechariah's prophecies out-of-hand, without giving a more thorough defense of the Reformed position(s).
Nonetheless, I was happy to acquire and study this fine work from such an O.T. scholar.

5.0 out of 5 stars helpful commentary

We recently preached through Malachi and in preparation for the series I found this commentary very helpful and with it being not too expensive I bought copies for the rest of the preaching team. The book is good, clear and helpful as we struggle with the Biblical text. Perhaps now I should encourage my team to preach Zechariah to get full value from the commentary!

Useful for a piece I was writing on Haggai, not too detailed but contained all the info I needed.
